The Many Faces of Chocolate Exhibit
A Chocolate Gallery: A 6-Year Celebration
We've had a lot of fun preparing for this event. About four months ago, we sparked the idea of hosting something special: an art show—a chocolate art show! We wanted to stretch our staff’s creativity and produce edible works of art, all in chocolate.
"The Many Faces of Chocolate was, first and foremost, a way for me to show my gratitude to all the talented and creative people I have working around me at The Secret Chocolatier." – Chef Bill Dietz
Behind the Scenes of The Many Faces of Chocolate
The journey from idea to finished art piece wasn’t easy, but it was incredibly rewarding. Each art piece was carefully planned, whether sketched out on paper, discussed among the team, or developed as we experimented in the kitchen. We had to consider not just the creative aspect, but also how time and gravity would affect the structures. The learning process was both challenging and fun.
Before the Show
We’re always grateful for local press! Chef Bill made a few rounds showcasing what we do, and Charlotte’s Wilson visited us one morning to see our work in action. It’s wonderful to give people a glimpse into what’s possible with something they find delicious every day—chocolate!
Opening Night!
For many of our team, this was the first time they were in the spotlight, and it was heartwarming to watch them work through those nervous butterflies. With six years of events under our belt, plus three years of farmers’ market experience, our family was ready for whatever came our way. Still, our expectations were blown away by the fantastic turnout and curiosity from everyone who attended.
"When our opening night finally came, I was absolutely overwhelmed. I was hoping for a good turnout but was completely blown away by the response to the event!" – Chef Bill Dietz
Chocolate On Display
Our gallery night was a huge success. Seeing everyone enjoy our hard work was incredibly satisfying. We’re excited to keep showcasing our pieces throughout September. For those who couldn’t attend, we’re working to get all the art online. Not everything is available yet, but we’re getting there!
If you have any questions, feel free to email us or give us a call. We’re happy to chat! And if you’d like to own a piece of our work, we can recreate it for you—or even craft something personal if you commission us for your next event.
Thanks for your continued support, and we hope to see you in the store soon!
