TLC Bark & July JFS Fundraiser
Last week, Logan and I wrapped up our July fundraiser by delivering a check to our friends at Jewish Family Services. We’re proud to have sold almost 60 packs of our now-famous TLC Bark! Unfortunately, The Littlest Chocolatier (Logan) wasn’t in the best mood for our visit—chefs can be moody, especially when they’re only 5! Despite that, I enjoyed a lovely office tour from our gracious hosts.
A Broad Help in the Community
What impressed me most about JFS is how they layer their services. People often come for crisis assistance and food pantry support, but they also meet with a caseworker to dig deeper into the issues they’re facing. This allows JFS to provide ongoing support and long-term solutions. Their volunteer programs and efforts to teach children about charitable giving are what initially connected Logan to them.
Patience & Learning
While checking out the pantry, Logan recognized some fresh vegetables that had been picked from the garden outside. Earlier in the Spring, his class at Charlotte Jewish Preschool worked in that garden, learning and helping others at the same time! He may have been scowling (apparently I was taking too long), but I know he was proud 😉. As his mother and co-owner of this business, I’m incredibly proud of how our community came together to support this cause and give back a little of the help that JFS of Greater Charlotte offers to our region.
