Chocolate in the Hanger
William Wilson contacted us to support his charity golf event with a kick-off party on June 26th at Jet Pool in Charlotte, NC. William was introduced to us from our other chocolatey good friend Andrea aka @chocolatebottle. With proceeds from the event to go to Autism research and the chance to hang out in a hanger full of cool planes–how could we say no?
Pros Supporting Autism Research
The evening was a lot fun with Pro AM Golfers and some regional celebrities coming out for the party and cause. The planes were georgous and I’m already envisioning one for the future when we have American chocolate confectionary dominance.. Oh I digress.. .. .. .
For the event we brought our chocolate truffles and we were in for a rather large surprise that the hanger was hovering in the high 80’s or low 90’s for the evening. It was a hot box. We intended to make a good show with a tower of chocolate truffles but quickly adapted to just a scattering few out to show while the rest stayed on ice. Unintentional they made for some great pudding if they stayed out a few minutes too long which some liked just as much as their regular method. We got through the evening with a bit of luck and sweat; having a good time through it all.
Lessons Learned for Being Hot with Chocolate
- Know the venue
- Know and verify the temperature ranges for the event hours
- If you are able bring out chocolate products that can support the climate
- Multiple coolers so that as you heat-contaminate one you are not disturbing the rest
- Pack in multiple boxes / product containers for the same reason–pull a small amount out, setup, serve, set aside, open a new one.
We met a lot of great people and enjoyed being a part of something special.
