Learning Along the Way, Re-evaluated by Advisors
Growing a business, any business, in the dark is a recipe for failure. When we began to get serious about The Secret Chocolatier we quickly brought in advisors from SCORE, SBA, and business leaders within our lives.
It Takes a Village
As the holiday season approaches and we begin looking ahead at the trials and tribulations of 2013 we once again raised our banner seeking out business advice of those who helped us to this point for further ideas on traversing to the next. Through this process we also found new people who lent their support and for that we are thankful.
In a Nutshell
Compressing many wise business voices is difficult, in a nutshell we were showed how our team is growing tighter as we learn better how to work with each others strengths. We are admired at what we have accomplished and have been chided about what we are not doing. Our biggest weakness is like I have posted before, sales. We need to not be afraid so much as learn to enjoy the adventure of failing and celebrate the wins along the way. As well we were told to continue to be testing, evaluate ourselves, our products, and our motives vigilantly so that we are always moving forward towards our goals.

The life cycle of a business seems to be either a quick moment in time or a lifetime and I would sincerely like to think we are a part of something that will last far beyond us. Only time, smart decisions, business logic, and luck will see us there.
We cannot say enough kind things about those who lend us their time, efforts, energies, thoughts, and networks. We are a long way from where we want to be but we continue to create fantastic products making so many smile along the way.
